Bible Verses Suggested by Facebook Friends
I wanted to create art based on bible verses for my church bazaar. So, back in May, I put out a request for my Facebook friends to share their favorite bible verse(s). The exact wording was, “spam me with your favorite bible verse(s).” And boy oh boy did people spam me! I got 27 different people to write in responses. Amazing! I loved the enthusiasm this post got, reaffirming my faith as well as my community of believers. God is good.
I’m listing them below in biblical order. I’ve included paintings that I finished so far.
I also dedicated a Pinterest board for this project, which you can find here. It’s got images for people’s suggestions, as well as ideas I liked along the way.
If the verse has a (x2) it means 2 people suggested it. A (x3) means 3 people suggested it. Only one verse was suggested three times, which was surprising.
I am still surprised by the variety of my friend’s suggestions!
Numbers 15:38-39. 38 “Speak to the people of Israel, and tell them to make tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a cord of blue on the tassel of each corner. 39 And it shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the LORD, to do them, not to follow after your own heart and your own eyes, which you are inclined to whore after. (As much as I love this verse, it doesn’t say wall art to me, lol)
