Spring at the Pond

Spring at the Pond

For my final and third painting for the art competition, Art in Bloom, I wondered if I could mix blush pink and yellow.  I added blue to ground the two lighter colors.  In the end, it looked like a pond in springtime to me.  This was the hardest of my three paintings for the Art in Bloom competition.  In the beginning, after I had all three colors on the canvas, I thought it looked pretty ugly.  I kept layering and adding texture, so that, in the end, it has  movement and texture.  I ended up liking it quite a bit, after having a lot of fear in the beginning.

From the two previous posts, you can see my other two entries.  All three of these were completed early in the morning before the kids woke up.  I surprised myself by getting them all done.  I was adding more and wondering if I should stop when I heard footsteps from upstairs.  I knew it was time to stop painting and start the day with the kids!
